keratin tips

Philocaly Keratin tips are individual extensions applied to the natural hair using a hot fusion technique. They use a silicone additive to help protect strands from damage by creating a coating, while allowing for free movement and a naturally layered texture.  Use keratin tips for full applications or as a hybrid method with Philocaly wefts to fill in smaller sections, such as the front hairline and nape.

Stylists and clients alike love keratin hair extensions because they are natural, long-lasting and one of the oldest and trusted extension methods on the market.

Each strand has a small and flat shaped tip that holds all the individual hairs together. The hair extension tip is a square-shaped keratin protein bond. This tip is solid until melted with the Hair Extension Tool. The stylist takes a small section of hair that is equal to the hair extension strand and places the bond over the section. The small plates at the end of the Melting Connector melt and soften the bonds. The stylist uses their fingers to mold and shape the melted keratin around the hair. When it cools, the keratin hardens again, creating a sealed, durable bond.

These small bonds are attached strand by strand. Once finished, the bonds lie completely flat against the head and are covered by the upper layers of hair.

Keratin tips are also great as a hybrid method with Philocaly wefts to fill in smaller sections, such as the front hairline and nape.

"Hey everyone! My name is Braxton and I’ve been doing hair for 10 years! I was born and raised in Regina and grew up with a love for art. I discovered hair as an art form early on by colouring my own hair as well as friends and family long before I was old enough to go to school.

My first salon I learned an insane amount about hair in a short amount of time, and that’s where I got to do some really cool projects. From Hillberg and Berk photo and video shoots to some local magazine shoots, Sask Fashion Week, a movie, and so much more. I moved to Montreal for a year and worked with some insanely talented people, came home and that’s when my career really took off.

This is when I really dived into extensions. My love for extensions has evolved so much over the years as well as the methods I’ve fallen in love with. Extensions can be the ultimate transformation or the most subtle change. I can’t wait to share what I know with you and help you build your brand and your love of hair!"

I had an amazing Zoom Master Class with Kayla. She was 100% patient, kind, and not overwhelming but got to the point extremely efficiently. I would give an extra star too as she didn’t have a single technical difficulty and I left the class feeling extremely confident and ready to welcome new services to my guests. I will be taking more education with Philocaly in the near future and to any stylists who want to take a class I would highly recommend! Thank you all so much for answering all of my questions along the way. Truly a great company

I have taken two of Philocaly’s education classes and I’m already signed up for a third. I really enjoy their education it’s so informative, the instructors are really knowledgeable. The customer service for Philocaly is amazing and helpful too. I absolutely love the hair - It’s very high quality and they are completely open about where they get their hair, how’s it’s made into extensions, and how it’s processed, which is really great to know.
I highly recommend Philocaly.

Completed the most recent Philocaly method, Push Up, instructed by Allana at Elixir Hair Studio. She was so knowledgeable and personable. It was refreshing to be educated by someone who has such an in depth knowledge of extensions, and is passionate about the industry. I would highly recommend signing up for one of their classes!

I attended the Philocaly Beaded Row Certification Course in Hamilton and was incredibly impressed by, not only the quality of the hair itself, but the company as a whole! Gaining more knowledge into the brand and how they source their product is why I will only work with Philocaly.
Abbey was also extremely friendly, beyond knowledgeable and willing to help out whenever needed. I cannot say enough good things about this company and the educators they work with!

The Masterclass was fantastic!! I learned so much! 4 different methods, so much info to take in over the two days, well worth it. Kayla was so great! She explained and demonstrated everything so well, she was also so patient when helping us. She was also great to be around, and made you feel comfortable!
